Medical Design & Outsourcing today won two Tabbie Awards for business-to-business journalism from Trade, Association and Business Publications International (TABPI).

The publishing organization named Medical Design & Outsourcing‘s March 2022 edition as one of the top 25 issues in the category of best single issue. TABPI described that category as “the competition’s most comprehensive.”

Award winners for the March 2022 edition — which focused on medical device miniaturization — were Managing Editor Jim Hammerand, Senior Art Director Matthew Claney, Senior Editor Danielle Kirsh, Pharma Editor Brian Buntz and Associate Editor Sean Whooley.

Medical Design & Outsourcing’s also won an honorable mention in the category of best special section for our September 2022 Medtech Big 100 project. Award winners were Executive Editor Chris Newmarker, Hammerand, Kirsh, Whooley and Buntz.

“The data gathering for the Big 100 is a year-long project that culminates into a who’s who in medtech,” said Kirsh, project lead on the Big 100. “The goal is to showcase which companies are driving the industry’s success, The accompanying analysis gives an inside look at the companies that are growing the most year-over-year and which ones are spending the most on research and development to drive sales annually.”

Watch for the 2023 Medtech Big 100 online soon and in the next edition of our digital and print magazine.

“This year’s entries once again show how B2B publications remain a critical information source for countless niche audiences worldwide,” TABPI President and WTWH Media VP Paul Heney said in a news release. “Business-to-business journalism continues to do the hard work, from digging deep into specific technology areas, to engaging convincingly in editorial and opinion pieces, to interviewing experts for insightful answers to reader problems. For two decades the Tabbie Awards has cast a light on B2B editors and designers. Throughout, our industry has continued to expand and meet the growing needs of diverse audiences around the world.”

Medical Design & Outsourcing‘s Big 100 project and March 2022 edition won honors in the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) Awards of Excellence earlier this year. In all, Medical Design & Outsourcing won five national and nine regional awards from ASBPE, including two national golds.
