Boston Scientific, Shockwave Medical, Endiatx and several other medtech developers took home top honors from the Edison Awards last night.

They were among more than two dozen medical technology finalists for the 2023 Edison Awards. The awards program “recognizes and celebrates honorees’ contribution to human-centered design, the value and differentiation they create, the positive influence they have on existing, new and emerging markets and the impact they have on the world.”

The 30 medtech finalists spanned four categories: education; engineering and robotics; health, medical and biotech; manufacturing and logistics; and personal technology and gadgets. Subcategories include smart wearables, noninvasive medtech, advanced drug delivery, AI-assisted medicine, operating room integration and more.

Endiatx was the sole recipient of the Edison Awards “game changer” designation among the medtech finalists, and was one of only two game changers among all Edison Awards finalists. Medical Design & Outsourcing profiled the PillBot developer on the cover of our March 2022 magazine.

Learn more about the companies and their products in the pages that follow, including information directly from their nominations. We’ll start with the game changer and gold winners, followed by silver and bronze.
