BMP Medical announced that it plans to expand within its Sterling, Massachusetts-based facility.

The company plans to provide additional warehouse space through a 25,000 square foot expansion. It provides customers more space for growing inventory needs to accelerate their time to market. A tenant previously occupied the space.

BMP Medical said this comes as part of its long-term strategic plan to address future growth. It brings its Sterling facility to 80,000 square feet. The facility includes Class 7 assembly and Class 8 clean room manufacturing, packaging and assembly. It also features custom assembly and packaging, custom injection blow molding, custom injection molding and DNase- and RNase-free manufacturing. BMP Medical’s facility is FDA-registered with product design and development services, R&D tooling and sterilization services.

“When we purchased the new facility in 2018, it was with the understanding that we would require that space down the road as part of our strategic growth plan. Customers will benefit from our larger warehouse capacities as well as the extra drying hoppers we purchased for resins,” said BMP Medical President and CEO Michael Faulkner. “The facility allows for BMP Medical, our existing customers, and future customers to experience continued growth.”

The expansion comes around the company’s 45-year anniversary. BMP Medical provides contract manufacturing for the medical device and medical diagnostic markets.

“Leading OEM partners and innovators have placed their trust in our manufacturing facility and services since 1978,” Faulkner said.“What better way to celebrate 45 years of business than by giving back to our community and supporting a veteran service program. After all, the company was a veteran-founded business. BMP Medical is proud to mark this special occasion by partnering with local colleges who work tirelessly to support the education of students and enhancing veterans’ lives: UMass Lowell, Mount Wachusett Community College, plastic manufacturing training program.”
